Complete Kitchen Gut & Transformation in Memphis, TN!

Phillips Property Solutions, LLC. completed a complete kitchen gut and renovation for a turn key investment property in Memphis, TN. The project began with careful removal of the existing cabinets so they could be refurbished and repainted rather than replaced. That approach preserved the layout while giving the kitchen a fresh, updated look.

After the cabinets were removed, we demolished the old flooring and installed a new subfloor. Installing a proper subfloor was critical for a long-lasting finish and for preparing the space for the large format white and grey tile that followed. Those large tiles help visually expand the kitchen and create an easy-to-clean surface suitable for tenants or buyers.

Plumbing rough-in and electrical rough-in work were completed as part of the gut renovation. Completing those rough-ins early allowed us to coordinate appliance locations, lighting, and fixtures without surprise delays. It also ensured the new layout could support the upgraded hardware and light fixtures the owner wanted.

Once the structural and mechanical work was in place, the refurbished cabinets were painted in that soft green tone and reinstalled. We fitted all new gold cabinet hardware and finishes at installation so the updated cabinets matched the new fixtures throughout the space. A custom butcher block countertop was measured and installed to bring warmth and contrast to the white and grey tile.

Lighting was updated to complement the new finishes. A new gold dinette light fixture was installed for the eating area, and a black and gold flush mount kitchen light was installed over the main workspace. Both fixtures were chosen to coordinate with the gold cabinet finishes while adding visual interest to the ceiling plane.

The project was finished with fresh wall, ceiling, and trim paint to complete the turn key transformation. Repainting the walls and trim unified the new tile, countertops, and cabinetry, creating a cohesive look that reads as modern and intentional. The combination of soft green cabinets, gold hardware, and butcher block counters gives the kitchen character without being overly trendy.
